Without IT, logistics grinds to a halt: dispatch, telematics, warehouse management and billing all depend on systems that have to keep running. As an IT specialist for system integration, you make sure they do — you plan and operate networks and servers, set up workstations, connect applications and help colleagues when something goes wrong.
What's special about an IT apprenticeship at a freight forwarder is that you see what the technology is for. Once you've stood in the warehouse and understood how a scanning process reaches the customer, you go on to build better systems.
