Kornwestheim near Stuttgart has two very different warehouse worlds. Große-Vehne Kontraktlogistik GmbH at Rudolf-Diesel-Straße 2 works exclusively for the automotive industry: JIS transport, sequencing, pre-assembly and on to complex assembly and on-site services at manufacturers' plants. GVZ Logistikzentrum Kornwestheim at Sigelstraße 53, by contrast, is the central logistics provider for the Stuttgart region, with customers from many sectors.
Automotive supply is tied to the production line — the order of the parts determines how the line is fed. Classic distribution logistics at the GVZ is order-driven and changes more over the course of the day. Both profiles exist in Kornwestheim, at two addresses.
